Connie J. Lemmon, 62, of Camden passed away Tuesday (04/01/2014),in Winter Park, FL. She was born September 20, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, MO to Wilbur and Juliene (Schater) Hente and was a graduate of Sturgis High School. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Finnerman’s Farm & Garden in Centreville and was secretary/treasurer for the B.F. Avery Tractor Club.
On September 15, 1995, she married Denton “Cork” Lemmon and he survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Ann Marie (Jon) Miller of Camden; one sister, Pamela McLaughlin of Ft. Wayne, IN; one brother, Mark (Nancy) Hente of Westerville, OH; and 2 grandchildren, Kyle Miller of Cody, WY and Ashleigh Miller of Camden; 1 niece, Elizabeth Hente of Dayton, OH; and 1 nephew, Matthew (Michelle) Hente of CA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Connie had a memorable laugh, a joyful smile, and could cook up a fantastic feast for a million people. She loved the man who called her “sweetie,” his children and grandchildren, her brother and sister, and many other relatives and friends. She loved entertaining, flower gardening, singing, tractors, antiques, bonfires, walking, talking, and listening. She loved decorating for holidays, especially Christmas, and her home was a showcase of lights inside and out. She was a voracious reader, easily consuming seven or more books in a week.
Visitation is scheduled at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading on Wednesday (5/7/2014) from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Camden Cemetery with Pastor Don Lee officiating. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County.
