B. F. Avery Implements

The B. F. Avery Collectors and Associates Club holds two events annually, a Winter Meeting and a Summer Show where the B. F. Avery family of tractors (all models of B. F. Avery, Cletrac's The General, Wards Twin Row, and MM BF and BG) are featured.

Our family of tractors includes all models of the B. F. Avery (A, V, R & BF), Cleveland Tractor Company's Cletrac The General Model GG, Wards Twin Row and Minneapolis Moline (MM) V, BF and BG. The General was designed to accommodate implements made by B. F. Avery and was produced from 1939 to 1943. When Cletrac had financial issues during WWII, Avery bought their General line including all inventory of tractors and parts and began producing the Model A which was initially identical to The General except for color, red versus Cletrac orange. Cletrac sold their tracked tractor lines to Oliver during the same time frame. The Wards Twin Row was simply a General GG sold by Montgomery Ward but painted red. Their serial numbers were sequential with the Generals. Avery added the smaller Model V in 1946 and the Model R, a more powerful tractor, replaced the Model A in 1950. Soon B. F. Avery was facing financial issues.  Minneapolis Moline (MM), desiring smaller tractors in their lineup, bought B. F. Avery in 1952.  The B. F. Avery Model V became the MM Model V and the BF Avery Model R the MM Model BF.  In 1953 the MM Model BF became the MM Model BG. Production continued thorough at least 1955 with apparently some being produced into 1957.
