As a contributing Editor to the BF Avery National Tractor Club's Quarterly Newsletter I have written about a wide range of topics in my column The Kracked Head Update, covering the BF Avery Company's history, tractors and equipment. I have attended many Antique Tractor Shows and talked with exhibitors about their passion for the BF Avery brand, Personally I own a 1948 BF Avery Model V that was purchased by my father around 1950.
I'm a Vietnam Veteran, having served aboard the USS Bausell, DD-845 and a member of The Tin Can Sailors Association as well as The Tonkin Gulf Yatch Club

Connie J. Lemmon September 20, 1951 - April 1, 2014  Connie J. Lemmon, 62, of Camden passed away Tuesday (04/01/2014),in Winter Park, FL. She was born September 20, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, MO to Wilbur and Juliene (Schater) Hente and was a graduate of Sturgis High School. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Finnerman’s Farm & Garden in Centreville and was secretary/treasurer for the B.F. Avery Tractor Club. BF Avery Sales Video

Florence, Alabama - Back in my November 28th, 2013 post "BF Avery Sales Video & other musings", I promised to get the video's uploaded to the website, well I'm happy to report that I completed that task today. Here is the history on the filmstrips again just in case you missed it the first time around; At the last 2010  Spring show in Auburn, IN, Connie Lemmons was playing a VHS tape copy of a series of BF Avery filmstrips that were produced in 1941.  It was a selling tool that a BF Avery dealer would use to help sell the new BF Avery Tru-Draft outfit.  The tractor in the filmstrips … [Read more...]

MM Model BF Featured on US Farm Report

The US Farm Report airs Saturdays on The Agweb which is an internet news show covering the agricultural events of the week and is hosted by John Phillips. One of the features on the show is the spotlighting of antique tractors. The clip shown below features a Minneapolis Moline Model BF owned by Rick Kiser, of Oak Harbor, Washington.  As the clip explains, the Minneapolis Moline BF was produced by BF Avery in Louisville, KY after the two companies merged.  The BF was actually an existing tractor line that BF Avery had sold under the BF Avery Model R branding.  Minneapolis Moline actually … [Read more...]
